Originary from Calabria, Lucien Urano, arrived in France when he was 13 years old bringing with him his willingness to become an entrepreneur. He came a long way!

His grand father and his father had the same passion for racehorses, and especially for trotters. His father, mad about breeding, spent a long time learning his job, near Forges les Eaux, in a place called Le Pommereux, where numerous winners have earned their spurs. Up to 2 or 3 years ago, horses and races were only spare time activities for M. Urano.
The Isadora d'Ombree victory in the 1999 Star Price, first major win for the new Ecurie des Charmes, triggered M. Lucien Urano to invest more, in order to do things on a large scale.

A purchasing policy which paid off has made Ecurie des Charmes the incontestable leader of French owners. The success of its best ambassadors in open auctions, such as Gobernador, Ksar d’Algot or Kitko, or in private sales, such as Jain de Beval or First de Retz, is as spectacular as it is deserved. This is the result of major investments, mainly in the breeding area; the best standard bearer of the first generation of horses bred by Mr. Urano, is the exceptional Kiss Melody !

Mr. Lucien Urano clearly expressed his wish for the immediate future: take a step back from his current professional duties in order to devote more time to his family and his passion: horses.
