A chestnut horse, with a big gait, in the style of Défi d'Aunou, Hermès de Péricard has a great potential which he has revealed on many occasions. He still has a potential for progress as his trainer-driver Alain Laurent treated him with care while young.

His father, the American Workaholic 1'11, has quickly become one of our best stallions after he was bought by the National Stud Farms. Nominated the best two-year-old of his class across the Atlantic, mainly after his victory in the  Breeders  Crown, Workaholic, a trotter of noble birth, son of the recently deceased chef-de-race Speedy Crown 1'12 and the broodmare Ah So 1'15 (who foaled Working Gal (Hambletonian Oaks), was successful in France thanks to Cygnus d'Odyssée 1'14, Corot 1'12, Carpe Diem 1'14, class of Tillard 1'12, Criterium d'Ombrée 1'15, Coda Josselyn 1'15, Dorlic du Pas 1'15, Derby du Chatelet 1'15, Django 1'14, Daholic 1'15, Forkaholic Vinoir 1'14, Gipsa  d'Urzy 1'14, Hippodamia 1'15, Illico presto 1'14, Kleyton 1’12‘’, Lejacques d’Houlbec 1’12’’, Lara du Goutier 1’13’’, Noora de l’Iton 1’14’’, etc. etc...

Quaprika 1'16, dam of Hermès de Péricard 1'13, was a winner at Vincennes and Enghien (6 wins), a strong mare who has already produced before him Escapade 1'14 (daughter of Tarass Boulba who was also a winner at Vincennes and Ben Hur 1'20 (son of Ejakval) a winner in the country.

Daughter of Ura 1’18' (Carioca II and the great Gelinotte 1’16’’, winner of two Prix d’Amérique ), top stallion, as well as good sire of broodmares, Quaprika was born of the exceptional Capri 1'17 who stood out during her time, when she won the Prix de Bretagne, Prix de La Marne, Prix d'Europe, and Prix de Buenos Aires. This beautiful chestnut mare was the daughter of the grandsire and excellent sire of dams who died prematurely, Pacha Granchamp 1'20 (Prix de Vincennes).

Besides Quaprika 1'16, we owe to Capri 1'17 six other winners in Vincennes: La Datcha 1'19 (who foaled FIGL 1'15), Nasko 1'18, Ovni 1'19, Pimprenelle 1'23 (who foaled Vice Versa 114 winner in Paris), Un Caprice 1'17 and Vigie 1'20 (who foaled Jeu de Paume 1'16)

Manhattan 1'22, great-granddam of Hermès de Péricard, is the source of many dams who produced Héros du Cadran 1'16,  Quer de toues 1'15, Rhum de Busset 1'16, Chopin des Lices 1'16. Her own sister, the classic Lafayette V 119" foaled, in turn, Jet de Prapin 1'18 and Tyska (dam of Fleuronné and grand-dam of Alpha Barbes, two classics).
