The long time property of the Van Themsche family, breeders of «Retz» among others, Haras de Retz was purchased by Mr. Lucien URANO in September 1999 . With an area of over 150 hectares, its infrastructure is organized for both breeding and training.

Two large units of loose boxes, one hundred in all,
accommodate the animals of the stud farm, and are equipped with:

	1 sand track of 800 m
	2 1,300 m straightways of dirt and sea sand
	a 800 m eight of sand
	bridle trails and roads for walks
	approximately 25 fenced paddocks with or without shelters
	1 covered riding school
	1 breeding room equipped with Technibelt dummy
	1 laboratory equipped in accordance with European standards

Breeding 2005 - "Station de Merville"

We will be glad to welcome you at the the Breeding "Station de monte de Merville" (located 1500 m far from the Haras de Retz), inaugurated in 2004. With the more efficient and fonctionnal accomodation, we will have the pleasure to welcome you in our adjacent secretariat, (Phone : +33 2 31 24 27 54 - Fax : +33 2 31 24 19 20).

In 2006, First de Retz, Gobernador, Hermès de Péricard, Jaïn de Béval, Kitko et Look de Star wil be joint by Nelson de Vandel.

Haras de Troarn

Les infrastructures de l’Ecurie des Charmes se sont étoffées d’un nouveau centre d’entraînement, situé à Troarn, à environ 6 Km du Haras de Retz. Opérationnel depuis l’été 2005, le Haras de Troarn regroupe deux barns de 18 boxes chacun, un barn de douches et sellerie, une piste de 1000 m, deux lignes droites et des allées cavalières entourées de bois.
